This parrot has made us say hello to him many more times than he's said hello to us.
I am so freaking boring.
In 2009 did you:
1. Go to a party? why, yes.
2. Try something new? I'm sure. I ate a shrimp, for god's sake.
3. Have someone change your life? dunno. every new person I meet changes my life in some way.
4. Kiss someone? hmmm...guess sooooooooo :-)
5. Tell your family and friends you love them? all the time
6. Buy something extravagant? bought way too much stuff. nothing real crazy though.
7. Do something nice for you? of course... everything today, plus the fact that I rarely do anything I don't want to do.
8. Do something terribly wrong? yes. <-- that was from last year. Didn't do anything that wrong this year, I don't think.
9. Move? Steuben to Erie. let's not get too crazy, now.
10. Go to a concert? bah. Nickelback, for one...
Best of the Year:
1. Party: party. hm. Oh, the McTague's Thanksgiving get-together was nice; neat to see everyone real quick.
2. Show: I've been rather enjoying Better Off Ted.
3. CD: jesus. El Presidente, by far.
4. Movie: have I watched a single movie all year? beats me. dunno. oh yeah. I don't know. I sleep a lot during them, by accident.
5. Song: jeez. something I love. haha, not Best I Ever Had...but something along those lines. Get Your Way, Jamie Cullum. James Taylor will always be my favorite when I'm sad. I've found that I really like Chicago. The band, not the musical or whatever.
6. Experience: this year doesn't really stand out to me in terms of experiences. probably my summer.
7. Concert: Jason Mraz was enjoyable.
8. Book: I loved whatever books I read this summer...if only I could remember which they were. I miss the Schenectady library and reading at the pool.
9. Month: what'd I even do this year?
10.Day: Thursday, because Friday barely matters.
Hopes for 2010:
1. Predict something that you think will happen in 2010? I'll become smarter, fatter, and probably slower. <--- last year = same as this year
2. What do you hope changes about your country? wish I cared.
3. What do you hope for yourself? happier <-- that was my answer from 2003?? agreed. I think winter's just not my season. <--- last year. agreed. BUT NOT REALLY, I'm so much happier this winter than I've ever been.
4. What do you hope for your family? haha, see Allie more, and for my mother to stop thinking she's funny when she's actually creepy.
5. What do you hope for your best friends? that they remain...my...BEST FRIEND EVERRR (s) <--- saaame.
6. What do you hope for the rest of your friends? that they stay my friends?
7. Do you think any amazing medical advances will be made? whatever works.
8. What is your hope for 2010? that everyone in our suite gets along well, and that I really grow as a person. Become more outgoing, friendly, develop some sort of leadership qualities...you know the drill.
During 2010:
where were you when it began: cruise, outside in the warm midnight air wearing my old prom dress being yelled at by my sister for not wanting to party it up on the dance floor with people I didn't know, while being secretly photographed from above by my father.
did you stay up: probably not long.
what was your new year wish? probably not to be a fatass. not to get slow. I really wanted to stop wanting to die, and have succeeded in that. I think most things went all right.
how many girlfriends/boyfriends in '09: one, thanks :-)
broke up: nah
care to mention names?: no, I prefer nameless boyfriends
new friends: Cquad-C2A
name them: just kidding, I don't make friends.
best place you went to: "place" is so vague.
worst place you went to: also don't know.
happiest moment: why can't I pinpoint moments this year? I was pretty happy with my 2:18.0 at outdoor ECAC's. it's all been downhill since.
best present: material item? coat, I've never had a nice looking coat before.

Guess what, guys? I don't care much for Stratigraphy.
But from my vantage point on this room made of windows I can see houses like designer Victorian boxcars, houses worth half a million or more, whose yards must be inside them because I cannot see any from the outside (anything that costs half a million dollars should include a yard). Clifford is sleeping on the carpet behind me. There's a glass to my right almost full of seltzer water, the nice stuff from the glass bottles. I decided to claim it, as it was left in the fridge. Water goes bad, you know?
I am trying not to be retrospective, because I post infrequently enough for that to be the impulse. Impulses in expression aren't always good. I don't have many life revelations at the moment, guys. I'm just working too hard, cultivating some kind of comprehensive future, stopping the car too fast with a dog in the back, stealing seltzer water from the nicest person in the world, drinking enough coffee to kill simpler organisms, watching the sun rise over the Mississippi (counting the bridges that criss-cross it. sky's bright red.), laughing at my sisters wittiness (missing my family),
Missing the mark during meets, incrementally pissing my coach off, freezing my hands (I lost one glove), cleaning out the dishwasher, sharing short stories with the class (getting better grades in English than Geology, most of the time. but that's always been easier), spending saturday mornings in bed as a marsupial, not drinking (studying instead), living without shampoo and conditioner deodorant and soap until it's almost not okay,
Yeah, that seems about it. Excited to go back home. Winter term wont be a break at all, though. Get back to work, Karoline.
